What was your degree and from where? Bachelor’s of Engineering (Civil) from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ
What influenced your decision to pursue this career path? “My dad is in the industry, and I was able to visit his job sites over the years, so I enjoyed seeing the projects. In addition, I took three years of CAD classes in high school and liked them. When deciding on a major, my different personal and academic interests all tied together in civil engineering.”
What are the biggest challenges in your work? “The biggest challenges I face are learning new concepts for the first time and adjusting to different problems that arise on a day-to-day basis. In addition, problem-solving can also be quite challenging because solutions are rarely apparent and easy; they’re tough and require a deep dedication to solve.”
What words of wisdom would you offer a young person entering your field? “Always take advantage of any opportunity that arises and can benefit your future. And do not be afraid to ask questions, as it will help you understand something new going forward.”
What is your greatest professional accomplishment thus far? “Completing the precast elevator shaft fabrication and installing it at one of our subway station jobsites in New York City for the Metropolitan Transit Authority.”
What are your professional goals? “There are three aspects to this answer in the short-, medium- and long-term. My short-term goal is to complete my MBA this year. Then, my medium-term goal is to study for and pass the PE exam and obtain PE licensure within the next few years. Lastly, my long-term goal is to rise up to a job position at the executive level of a company or start my own business.”
Favorite book recently read? “‘The Art of War,’” attributed to the ancient Chinese strategist Sun Tzu.

Favorite interests or hobbies? “Automobiles, exercise, and running. I also enjoy playing and watching sports as well as exploring new places.”
