NYS HERO Act Webinar

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd

NYS HERO ACT

The New York State HERO ACT is now in effect. The act mandates extensive new workplace health and safety protections in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the law, all employers are required to adopt a workplace safety plan, and implement it for all airborne infectious diseases designated by the New York State Department of Health.

Employers can adopt a model safety plan as crafted by the New York State Department of Labor, or develop their own safety pan in compliance with HERO ACT standards. Currently, while employers must adopt plans as required by the law, as of the date of this writing no designation has been made and plans are not required to be in effect.

What you will Learn

– When the Obligations to Employers Apply
– Best Practices to Comply with the New Law
– What Designates and Airborne Infectious Disease
– Office and Jobsite Postings and Communication
– Answers to All Your Questions

The session will be led by attorney Thomas Tripodianos of the law firm Welby, Brady & Greenblatt, LLP.  Mr. Tripodianos will outline for all association members the requirements of the new law with ample Q&A opportunities.

Cost: Free to all association members

Cybersecurity Awareness Training
by Tarrytech

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 18th, 2021 - 10am to 11am

Via Zoom - register below to receive link

Every day we wake up to news coverage about another company that has been hacked, held ransom, or have had their critical data stolen and shared on the dark web.  These news stories are sensational, and usually highlight attacks on the big companies: Equifax,  JBS – the ransomware attack that crippled the meat processing industry, Colonial Pipeline – the hack that took down the largest fuel pipeline in the US, major hospitals and healthcare providers, and municipal governments to name a few.  We often create a false sense of security regarding these breaches, and think that our companies are too small to be the focus of a cyber attack.  However, that couldn’t be further from the truth!  In 2020, more than 50% of small and medium sized businesses have experienced a cyberattack.  You might think that because you have a firewall and antivirus, that this is enough to keep your critical systems safe, but that is only where cybersecurity protection begins!

In this seminar, you will learn valuable information on how the cybercriminals are gaining access to your critical networks and data, and how to keep your networks safe from attacks.  You will learn that it starts with a plan, and the key components that you must put in place today to prevent you from falling victim to a cyber attack!
