46th Annual CIC Golf Classic Attracts Hundreds to Summer Social
SCARBOROUGH, NY— For one joyful summer day each year, the contracting community gathers, with golf clubs and fellowship to support industry affairs, at the CIC Annual Golf Classic held at legendary Sleepy Hollow Country Club here in Westchester. This year’s staging on Mon., July 7, attracted dozens of company and organization sponsors along with many key elected and public works officials who help advance construction projects and programs in the region.
Joining the contractors, suppliers and union leaders were New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins; state senators Shelley Mayer, Pete Harckham and Rob Rolison; state assembly members Chris Burdick, Dana Levenberg, Jonathan Jacobson, Pat Carroll and Legislative Director Maureen Porette; and Westchester Commissioner of Transportation and Public Works Hugh Greechan, P.E.
This year’s rounds of golf featured morning and afternoon shotgun formats, with 192 players put to the test at the popular summer sports social that is always the highlight of the construction industry’s annual calendar in the lower Hudson Valley.
Following golf and the always-popular Louis G. Nappi Bocci contest in the afternoon, some 385 dinner guests gathered under the expansive and comfortable banquet tent to hear a summary presentation by CIC Executive Director John Cooney, Jr., on the association’s programs and efforts, including CIC’s ongoing campaign to expand the ranks of skilled labor and career opportunities in the Building Trades. The dinner presentation was followed by the awards that were long on raffle prizes and recognition of the golf talent.
