NYC Issues RFP for 3 Bronx Sites To Design, Install Solar Development

NEW YORK—New York City Economic Development Corporation  called today for Request for Proposals (RFP) for roof-mounted or carport-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on three public-leased sites in the Bronx.

The RFP calls for the developer to design, finance, install, own, operate, repair, maintain and ultimately decommission the systems. The location of the systems will be located at 600 Food Center Drive, 1625 Bathgate Avenue, and 1701 Bathgate Avenue in the Bronx.

The RFP represents more than 2.5 MW in renewable generation capacity potential and advances NYCEDC’s objective of enhancing clean energy infrastructure while improving energy grid resiliency across New York City. This Bronx Multisite Solar Development RFP builds on the goals set forth in Mayor Adams’ PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done, Green Economy Action Plan, and Hunts Point Forward by furthering New York City’s commitment to sustainability, economic opportunity, and community resilience.

“Renewable energy, including the three new solar sites announced today, isn’t just about cutting carbon emissions—it’s about powering up New York City’s Green Economy,” said NYCEDC President & CEO Andrew Kimball. “With projects like this, we’re making progress towards a cleaner, greener, more prosperous future for the Bronx and the entire city.”
