47th Annual CIC Golf Classic Draws 200 Golfers, 408 Dinner Guests on July 13
Scarborough, NY—Sleepy Hollow Country Club once again served as host of the CIC Annual Golf Classic this past Monday, July 13. On a beautiful day with gorgeous views of the Hudson Valley serving as a backdrop, 200 contractors, suppliers, union labor officials and services professionals competed in a morning and an afternoon round of golf played in a “shotgun” format.
Afterwards, as cocktails and dinner were served on the terrace of the country club, the sun was setting over the Hudson River, making for a stunning view that allowed a great photo opportunity for the 408 guests who came out to enjoy the festivities. With many elected officials and leaders in the contracting community in attendance, John Cooney, Jr. gave a presentation on the CIC’s continued commitment to building our community and careers through apprenticeship in the Hudson Valley.
The night concluded as prizes and gift certificates for the SHCC Pro Shop were awarded to the winners of the day, with Matt Benedon taking home first place for the morning (69) and Gunner Granito of Shawn’s Lawns winning in the afternoon (68).
Other notable winners include the team of Don Cervantes, Jake Granito, Nicholas Wendell and Gunner Granito of Shawn’s Lawns for first place team; Longest drive was awarded to Gianluca Ruggiero of Gianfia (AM) and Jake Granito of Shawn’s Lawns (PM). Closest to the pin went to Matt Pucila of Ecco III (AM) and Dan Bianco of NYS Laborers LECET (PM); Closest to the line was won by Joe Spost of Lechase (AM) and Kieran Keaveney of KCM Construction (PM); and longest drive for ladies was won by Beth Cheverie of NYS Laborers LECET. The final award was given to the winners of the annual Louis G. Nappi Bocce tournament, Rocco Circosta and Jarred Stellar of Peckham Industries.
