CIC Golf Classic Staged
At Sleepy Hollow Country Club

Monday, July 8 – Scarborough, NY Contractors, Labor Leaders, Public Sector Officials Attended 45th Annual Summer Sports Social

SCARBOROUGH, NY—There were 188 spirited golfers who took on high temperatures and the legendary Sleepy Hollow Country Club on Mon., July 8, for a day of camaraderie at the 45th annual CIC Golf Classic.

The morning and afternoon shotgun rounds were filled to capacity at the popular summer sports social—always a popular highlight of the construction industry’s summer season in the lower Hudson Valley.

Following golf, 378 members, guests and leaders of the contracting community, material and equipment suppliers and organized labor joined with government and public works officials for the evening’s reception and dinner festivities.

A summary presentation by CIC Executive Director John Cooney, Jr., on the association’s industry-affairs initiatives and infrastructure renewal needs was followed by an awards dinner that was long on raffle prizes and recognition of the golf talent present under the roof of the club’s banquet tent.

Morning Shotgun Winners – In the “play-your-own-ball” format, the 1st Place Low Gross winners among the men was Joe Ascolese (78) followed by Steve Stallmer (80). The 1st Place Low Net winner was Phil Toth (70) followed by Wayne Whittman (70). In other contests of golfing skill, Adam Blandeburgo won the Longest Drive competition, Steve Harrison won Closest to the Pin, and Phil Toth bested the field of Closest to the Line. In the annual Louis G. Nappi Bocce competition, Enrico Fabre and Manny Foto of ECCO III Enterprises claimed 1st Place, followed by Martino Contractors’ Joe Martino and Bill Cossari.
